This blog is a compilation of life lessons involving ministry, life, family and pretty much anything I feel like sharing.
Life's best lessons are learned from the trials and errors of yourself...and those around you. Hope you can learn from mine!
With Christmas this week, the band had no rehearsal until this morning before the services. Not how we like to roll...but we made it happen. Being that this was our first third service Sunday without it being a holiday like last week... there was a sense of anticipation in the air. There was also the factor of being thrown off with the new time changes along with feeling the "Christmas hangover" across the room. Adding a third services brings a sort of anticipation as to what God will do over the coming months. Exciting to see what God does.
In my attempt to pull out some of our oldies, thinking that they'd be old hat and easy to play, I neglected to think about the fact that we haven't played them in quite some time. Like blowing dust off an old book and rereading it remembering vaguely the story, but not the details. Thanks to the band for rolling this morning.
This week on the All About Worship Podcast, we interview Kim Walker who is a worship leader at
Bethel Church in Redding, CA. Wisdom and I talked to her about her experiences as a worship leader and songwriter along with answers to your questions submitted on the live Mogulus video when we recorded the interview.

Amazing day at Grace this Sunday. Added a choir (which did awesome!) and also did a few Trans-Siberrean Orchestra tunes. On top of all of that, we had several people raise their hands professing to have received Christ. Seeing that makes all the effort, sweat and craziness of preparing for such a big day worth it all.
Several things to note about yesterday:
Lighting - Kent Warden did a phenomenal job creating some great visual elements during the music. He spent a lot of hours the day before up at the church. Check out the video below to see a little bit of what he put together for the Christmas Eve Sarajevo song. Great job Kent!
Choir - Brian King did awesome coordinating the choir leading up to this weekend. Thanks to all of the folks who sang. Beautiful job on "Come Emmanuel". I loved the additional voices to the music.
Trans-Siberrean Orchestra - Our band never ceases to amaze me. Fabulous job.
Video - Wow. You guys rolled with the added element of streaming live on the web. Not only that, you pulled out the new camera before I was ready...and you made it happen! Problem with it is this...you've raised the bar and now we'll have to perform like this every week!
Audio - Scott...nicely done my friend. With all the added elements, you made it happen. Thank you man.
Stage Team - To Marie, Tami, Jeff...THANK YOU. You're the glue that made it all happen.
Marie - Thank you for directing in Jason's place. You filled some HUGE shoes and did it! Thanks!
It's still a big work in project. Due to the needs of some homebound Gracers, we've decided to pull the trigger on our streaming of the Grace services online. The quality isn't great at this point, but at least people are able to be a part of the worship. If you're sitting at home around 8:30, 10 or 11:30 a.m. (CST), check us out below. If you're really adventurous, click here and you can even be a part of the chatroom:
thanks for watching. Check out the Grace Mogulus channel for future casts here.
This is it Gracers! The final three days before our big Christmas services at Grace Church on December 21.
This week Tim and I talk about the final days leading up to the close of "The Invitation" series along with an interview with two fellas from Grace. One, Danny, recently invited his friend John to church and personally saw John's life changed by God. If you're needing a final encouragement to build up that final courage to ask someone to come this Sunday...give this podcast a listen.

This week was week two of our series "The Invitation". Leading up to our big Christmas celebration on December 21, Tim brought a message pumping us Gracers up to invite at least 7 people so that if we have at least 1 of the 7 invited come...we'll have about 2,000 folks come to hear the gospel. So Gracers...have you made your invites? I'm still working on mine.
This week the children's ministry brought the kids up for a couple of songs onstage. Lots of kids and lots of family in the worship center this week. With this in mind, we decided to give a little sneek peak at one of the songs we'll be doing for our big Christmas celebration on Dec 21. We played "Christmas Eve Sarajevo" by the Trans-siberrean Orchestra...and the Grace band rocked. These guys worked hard and they did a phenomenal job. Way to go team!

This week we kicked off a new series leading up to our bige Christmas celebration on December 21 called "The Invitation". Check out Tim's notes on the message here. Quite a challenge to all of us to invite someone in our world to church on the big day.
We broke out the Christmas music this week with a rendition of "O Come all Ye Faithful" and "Angels We Have Heard on High". But my fave was "True Love"...not a traditional Christmas tune...but one I've been itching to play for months. Here's the music list. Don't forget you can purchase on iTunes by clicking the title.
