This Sunday we're kicking off a four week series on personal finances. Last year we did a finances series and had great response from it. As the hollidays kick into gear and people begin pulling out the old credit cards to make their families happy with all the "stuff", we're hoping to help give people a little guidance in making financial decisions before it's too late.
This series was created by the good folks at Willow Creek up in Illinois. Unfortunately the package did not come with the graphics...I had to start from scratch copying theirs, changing some elements. This also comes with a small group curriculum that coincides with the messages each week.

Yesterday our Pastor, Tim Howey, continued through the book of Colossians. Week 4 brought us through the topic of legalism. The one thought that God taught me yesterday was to always remain graceful to those who may be blinded by the veil of legalism.
He covered everything from shorts to coullates (SP?) rock beats to back masking, and moving lights to haze machines. Seriously...it was a powerful message. I believe everyone in that room walked out thinking about the things that they are legalistic about. We all have our own rules and regulations which make us judgemental of others whether we believe it or not. If you're a jeans wearing church goer...you know you've looked at those new people coming in at least once and thought "those poor souls, why don't they just understand that they can be comfortable in the liberty of Christ like me and wear cool jeans?".
Tim didn't just tell you what the Bible says about this topic, he also told his own personal story of dealing with this issue in his life. It's worth a listen if you've been down this road or know someone who has.

We've finally stuck a toe in the world of podcasting. Grace Church is now podcasting it's messages on iTunes. We're still working on getting it on the iTunes list but it is currently being fed there. To sign up, click here then click the current podcast icon on that page. Pretty soon we'll be replacing that with this little image.
You can now carry around our pastor, Tim Howey, in your pocket and just listen to him preach in your ears wherever you are.
