Summer Breakout Jr. (vacation Bible school for ages 4 - K) was this week. We always cap off the week with the kids singing a few songs on Sunday during the services. Fun time with lots of visiting family members to see their kids on the stage.
We had a few things thrown at us this week:
- Website Down - our website was down Sunday morning which meant our ftp site was down. This is where we put the powerpoint announcement slides I create for the services so the video team can pull them down Sunday morning. It's also where our pastor puts his powerpoint for the messages. I HATE when the website goes down...especially on a Sunday morning. You never know when a visitor may try logging to get directions. Not cool. It finally came up after the services.
- Crazy Font Issues - So when the video team got the powerpoint from Tim, we had some crazy font display issues. The Eurostile font is on both the video pc and Tim's, however, it displays all funkified. We'll be working on that this week.
- Muted Mic - Somehow Tim's mic got muted before he walked onstage in the first service. It was on Tim's bodypack. Strange. We'll be making mic checks before anyone enters the stage. We checked it earlier in the morning but sometime between the check and Tim going onstage, it happened. He had to preach with a handheld mic.
- Pulpit - Second service, someone forgot to put the pulpit onstage. So Tim went out and had nothing to set his stuff on. Thank you to Wayne who was sitting on the front row for helping a brotha out by putting the pulpit up.
It wasn't all a bad morning. Music went pretty well. Great job to James and Chris for learning the kids songs that morning. Y'all did great! And to Scott and Jon for playing all week during SBO Jr...thank you! To Gary and Sam...you guys are my heroes too!
To the video guys who sometimes have the hardest jobs...thank you for your steadfastness and resolve when mornings like these happen. Doug, Adrian and Jim...you guys are rocks.
