Jim Williams preached an awesome message on dealing with stress. He did an awesome job and I think it
spoke to many folks based on conversations I've had. Jim is just getting more comfortable every time he gets up there and teaches. Way to go Jim! Now...on to the music portion of the worship...
I don't know what was up with first service...but y'all looked TIRED. We walked offstage and one of the team members commented on how we saw a few people actually stretch and yawn during the worship. I think we may need to have people walking up and down the aisles passing out coffee to get the juices flowing. Band did awesome!
It was great having Brad back. I told him I knew it was going to be a good day because he donned the beret. When you see the beret, he's "on". Everyone can now rest easy he hasn't left the church. I think many of you were beginning to wonder if Brad and I were fighting or something. He was on a MUCH deserved break for a little over a month after going at it for 6 years straight. I love hearing him belt out the Tree63 stuff. He's our designated Tree63 song singer. By the way...you'll begin hearing more of their stuff in the coming months.
Here's the worship list:
- Everlasting God (Tomlin Version) by Brenton Brown
- King by Tree63
- Enough by Chris Tomlin
- Friend of God by Michael Gungor
- Mighty is the Power of the Cross by Chris Tomlin
I love on the last song at the conclusion of the sermon how a select few stand up to worship. Sometimes they cause the whole congregation to stand and other times you'll see just one person stand. This week I saw one lonely person standing during second service. Uninhibited, fully worshiping, not caring at all about anyone around her, just crying out to God thanking the Lord for the power of the cross. Awesome.
Quick question - I quit linking to Amazon's website for each album that the songs are found on...was anyone using it? I'll bring it back. Drop a note and lemme know.
Later,
-Babu
