Without lights you wouldn't see Tim when he preaches. Without lights you wouldn't see your Bible in your lap to follow along with the message. These are important things about the lighting at Grace, but over the past year when the facility was completed, lighting was taken to a whole new level. It called for someone who could not just flip switches and press buttons, but someone who could make the stage a canvas and treat every light like an acrylic paint that creates colorful expressions in worship. Keith has been that man for the past year at our church.
When we talked about the worship experience and atmosphere we were wanting to create in our new facility, there were those who didn't quite grasp the purpose of all the fancy/colorful lighting. God has given every culture some freedom in expressing it's love to Him. He's also given us the freedom and liberty to use things in our culture that speak to and reach it. The vision called for someone like Keith to take it to the next level and he's done just that.
Keith is so much more than the Lighting Lead at Grace. He's a man who has spoken in my life personally through one of the hardest transitions my family faced in 2003 when I lost my job of seven years. He encouraged me to focus on my strength and spend the time seeking what God had for my family. He knew God was molding me into a lead worshiper. Everything Keith does on our team is an act of worship to the Lord with the desire to help lead others to seeing God's glory and meeting Christ on Sundays. Keith is another reason I LOVE being on the Grace Weekend Service Team!
If you see Keith, be sure to tell him he's SUPER COOL!!!!
