You may remember how my daughter and I won a Nintendo Wii back in March while visiting a Grace Church LAN party. Since that time, Sporty has mastered the Wii-mote and has become a considerable gaming force to be reckoned with. I've enjoyed it as well, but truth be told, I still find myself playing the old Xbox for my Star Wars gaming fix. However, in 2008, that may change.
If you're still shopping for a game console for your kidlets and haven't decided on the Xbox 360, PS3 or the Wii, let me show you something that may or may not help you make a call.
In 2008, a new Star Wars game called "The Force Unleashed" hits the shelves. This game is unique as it carries the Star Wars tale from Episode 3 (released in 2005) to Episode 4 (released 1977). Some dot connecting in the story between these two movies will take place in the game itself. Now for me, as a Star Wars geek, this is pretty exciting. For others, it just means more fun things to blow up in the Star Wars universe. While this alone is intriguing for me, it's now been made known within the past few months, that Nintendo Wii will also carry the game. This means lightsaber dueling with the Wii-mote. A unique experience that only the Wii can offer.
Along with the typical game play of the Wii within the story line of the game, you will also get an
opportunity to have two player dueling with the Wii-motes. Something the Xbox 360 and the PS3 cannot offer. This alone could encourage anyone who enjoys Star Wars to make the Wii purchase. Just in time for this game, you will also be able to purchase the upcoming Wii Light Sword. Just another way to enhance your Jedi gaming experience.
So when you're out there making the gaming console purchase, you may want to consider the Wii for your 2008 gaming pleasure...I mean for your kids....right...do it for the children. :)
