New year...new series...lots of new faces. Tim kicked off a new series on managing moola God's way. N-UFF is the series title and he kicked it off with a great message called "N-UFF Lies". Give it a listen here. I was thrilled as one of my dreams came true...we had a song by The Cure at church. :) It was a nifty video bump Doog put together last minute filled with facts and figures on the financial state of families in the U.S. You can purchase the song by The Cure on iTunes here. It's called Never Enough.
Today the praise team played with a heavy heart while one of our team members was at the hospital taking care of his wife. Tracie had some health issues that put her out of commission Saturday. It's been a roller coaster ride for Brad, one of our electric guitar players, and Trace as they've been waiting for an answer on what the problem is. We shifted a song out of the order, King by Tree63 and replaced it with Let God Arise by Tomlin. Nobody can sing Tree63 songs but Brad.
Services were packed today...especially second service. Over 1,000 people in attendance this weekend. Wow.
Here's the worship setlist. Don't forget to click the titles to purchase on iTunes:
- Awesome is the Lord Most High (A) by Chris Tomlin - Still a personal fave of mine.
- Let God Arise (B) by Chris Tomlin - Started this off different this week. Tried a little acoustic intro with the kick drum. Got the congregation to sing out the chorus to the acoustic guitar three times then kicked into it. This rocked. :)
- Everything Glorious (C) by David Crowder Band - Newbie for us. Seemed to come off well. I think a lot of folks knew this one already...which is awesome! We'll be doing this again. I have to say playing this one HURTS my thumb. I'm not a big fan of the key of C.
- Shine (G) by Matt Redman - Beautiful tune. I love the chorus.
- Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) by Chris Tomlin - Closed out the service with this one. Always a fave methinks.
