Tom Saruman?

What a game!  I don't typically obsess over sporting events anymore.  Especially the Super Bowl.  Many of the games I've seen haven't been that exciting.  But this year was completely different.  This year I actually cared and stayed over at our friends house for the whole game...a first in a long time.  It was impressive.

I was surprised that the halftime show was Tom Petty.  I just never pictured him as a big Super Bowl party kind of halftime show guy.  I mean really, are there many in the younger generation that familiar with his music? I could be wrong.  I'm a fan of many some of Petty's tunes and could listen to a disc of his for maybe thirty minutes at a time (Wildflowers is one of my faves), but that doesn't mean I'd think he's Super Bowl halftime material.  I wonder how they measure that anyway. I suppose Petty's a pretty safe bet and even if he had some sort of wardrobe malfunction there wouldn't be much controversy.  What'd you think of the show?

By the way...did anyone notice Petty's strange resemblance to Saruman from Lord of the Rings?  Kind of creepy.
