Usually upon returning from a major conference like Catalyst, I'm pretty energized and pumped to get back into the worship leading role...and it was no different today. After my experience at Catalyst, there are so many things stirring within me. Great things, sobering things and practical things that I'm spinning on. It gave me a refreshing perspective this morning while leading worship.
Message
Tim closed out our 5 week series thru the book of Ruth called "Choices". This was a homegrown
series that included a coinciding small group study guide assembled by our crack spiritual development Pastor Doug Howey along with our Senior Pastor Tim Howey and Brian Gann. Listen to the message from today here. Great job to all who helped make this happen.
Music
This week we were privileged to hear from a longtime Gracer, Daneen, about her struggles with bitterness. She did an awesome job!
During the music we had a little glitch happen with our Roland V-Drum kit. Each week I get more frustrated with this supposed awesome kit. One of our crash cymbals went out...frustrating for our percussionist, Thunderfoot Jon, and quite annoying for the rest of the team. We ended up pulling out an old cymbal from our previous kit. Seemed to work ok...but it's definitely a temporary fix. Great job to Thunderfoot for rolling with it.
The band this week had no rehearsal due to my absence in GA for the Catalyst conference. We ended up working on the songlist this morning right up until 15 minutes before the service start. Not much breathing room which meant it was go go go. We also had communion which included a little background music with the acoustic guitar and keys. Gary and I worked out a little diddy backstage before walking out to play. Great job to Gary (aka littleg) for rolling with that.
Here's the worship setlist. Don't forget, you can purchase on iTunes by clicking the song title below:
- Yesterday, Today and Forever (E) by Vicky Beeching
- Salvation is Here (B) by Hillsong United
- No Sweeter Name (G) by Kari Jobe
- Amazing Grace (My Chains) (E) Tomlin version
- Son of God (G) by Starfield
Once again the team of people I work with amaze me. From the band to the stage crew. By the way...welcome back Marie! It was nice having her back from the extended break! Those stage folks are heroes in so many ways. Also to Mark Breaux who manned the video on his own...after having been on the team for about a month...AWESOME JOB! He assembled the program and ran it. Tough work. Great job this week Grace WST!
