Worship Recap: 1/30/11

W O W. What a weekend! Did some changing on the song "How He Loves Us" straying from the Crowder Band version and doing a bit of a hybrid taking the slide guitar from John Mark McMillan's album "The Medicine". Sam did GREAT nailing it. We also had Caleb Theriot on the stage with the worship team for the first time! This high school youth is an official part of the band on rotation with the electric guitarists. He's all growed up!!! Excellent job this morning Caleb!!! Kudos to Tony and Gina for bringing a powerful reflective version of Kari Jobe's song, "The More I Seek You".

Worship Recap: 1/23/11

This week we had some new folks on the team join us on stage.  We had Jose on drums and Wisdom on acoustic guitar. They did a great job!  I jumped in on electric guitar and found myself enjoying it quite a bit. Took some adjusting, but I LOVED the change! After Thursday rehearsal, I felt like the setlist needed a little quiet moment. So for the next few days between Thursday and Sunday, I prayed and thought about what might fit. Sunday morning I landed on the last verse and chorus of "It Is Well" to tag the end of "Your Love Never Fails". It worked great! Kudos to Jo and Kristen for nailing the final song at the end of service!

Worship MythBusters

A good friend of mine, Rich Kirkpatrick, has been an integral part of my worship leading growth over the past 5 years or so since meeting him online. We developed a friendship online discussing our struggles, victories and hearts about worship ministry eventually meeting up at conferences.  There are worship leaders, worship pastors and worship pastors of worship leaders and pastors...Rich is one of those guys who not only cares for the music...but cares for and invests greatly in those leading worship each week.
